Developed a modified Fountas & Pinnell Visual Multiple Choice Assessment with similar choices to eliminate “easy guesses” and focus more on reading and comprehension.
This Benchmark Assessment is given 3 different ways:
– Completely independently (student reads the book & answers the comprehension worksheet)
– Semi Independent (student reads the book independently & teacher reads the comprehension questions on the worksheet)
– Limited Independent (student reads the book independently & teacher reads the comprehension questions and the student uses the Comprehension Choice Board to point to the answer)
This was created to help get a more realistic present reading level WITHOUT all of our verbal and gestural prompting that we automatically do.
